Dimple Sheet structure is made of diagonal depressions and protrusions which shape small dimples (holes) on a planar surface. This bumpy surface provides a pathway for fluids to cross. On the other hand the Impermeability of HDPE make Dimple Sheet a great choice for waterproofing. Considering these two important features, Dimple Sheet is ideal for both drainage and waterproofing at the same time. However in some cases it is recommended to use a Non-woven Geotextile between dimple sheet and soil material. Geotextile functions as a filter and prevents the soil to fill up the dimples, while allowing fluids to pass. It is also a protection layer for Dimple sheet from punching and other mechanical damages.
Dimple sheet is used when drainage and sealing are both required. Here are some common operations that dimple sheet justifies the requirements:
1. road, rail tunnel waterproofing system;
2. underground water system;
3. green planting on roof of the building (Green Roof);
4. drainage works of buildings and roof gardens.
