HDPE Geomembrane is widely used in waterproofing and sealing. It is available in a variety of thicknesses and dimensions. Poly ethylene can be melted without changing its properties. This characteristic makes it possible to weld pieces of HDPE and make strong bonds as hard as the peices and resist with the same qualites.
Another important component of HDPE Geomembrane is Black Carbon. Carbon increases the ultraviolet resistance of the sheet.
More over in order to improve the durability of Geomembrane in exposed environments some antioxidants are added to the mixture.
Geomembrane is a very low permeability synthetic membrane liner or barrier used to control fluid (liquid or gas) migration in a human-made project, structure, or system. here are some examples of HDPE Geomembrane applications:
1- As waterproofing liners within tunnels and subsurface constructions
2- As liners for reserve water ( e.g Agricultural water reservoir)
3- As liners for waste liquids, solid-waste landfills and waste piles.
4- As liners for solar ponds and heap leach pads.
